Islander, Jose Marquez, will have small photos on display. The pictures will be familiar to commuters and beach combers as Jose has chosen some of his favorite images from every day life.

swap and sew

A scaled down version of last summer's Swap-o-Rama-Rama, participants are invited to bring unwanted clothing and clothing projects to swap with others or upcycle into something new. Sewing machines, supplies and instruction, as well as, a silk screen machine and various embellishments, will all be provided. Cost is $5.00 to cover materials. Registration is required as space is extremely limited. This event is open to all ages, but participants under 10 should have an accompanying adult.

memoir group

There are a few openings in this group meeting every other Tuesday to discuss writing memoirs. Bring your stories to share and get feedback and inspiration and motivation. Space is limited; please call the store to register.

author event - jessica maxwell

Former Islander, Jessica Maxwell's book, Roll Around Heaven: An All-True Accidental Spiritual Adventure, has just been released in paperback, and the author is including a stop on Vashon in her Northwest book tour. She will read from her book and be available for signing. There will also be a special appearance by Lory Misel, "The Holy Pig Farmer."

crafty camp with jan staehli

There are still a few spots left in this mini-camp. Projects will include a memories box of natural material, picture frames, recycled items jewelry, games, and nature walks to collect items to use. Bring a lunch. Cost - $30/class or $75.00 for all three. Ages 6-14.
